Traditional Chinese Medicine's Understanding of Fruits
Traditional Chinese Medicine's Understanding of Fruits
The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon states that the five fruits are helpful.
Although fruits are divided into many different types, their essence is the same.
Plants have roots at the bottom to absorb soil moisture and nutrients, leaves at the top to absorb weather and carry out photosynthesis, and branches as triple burners to transport nutrients.
After flowering, plants are pollinated and produce seeds, which are stored in the fruit to continue the species.
Flowers are the sexual organs of plants, hidden under the stamen before the fruit grows into fruit, called the ovary.
After pollination, the flowers fall and the ovary swells, bearing fruit.
So, what is fruit actually? Why do some plants not produce fruits and instead directly form seeds, while others grow into fruits?
Plants are not like animals, animals can walk in all directions, while plants can only be fixed in one place.
For plants, some directly produce seeds, such as common wheat, rice, etc., while for beans, they directly produce pods. And fruit trees mostly bear fruit.
Once formed into seeds, they can take root and sprout directly upon landing, requiring very little water and nutrients.
As for fruit trees, they require more nutrients. A fruit contains a nucleus inside, which is where the seed is located, while a fruit is the outer shell of the seed. Before the seed matures, the fruit provides nutrients for the seed. After the seed matures, the fruit falls and stores nutrients for the seed, which is used for germination. All the efforts made by a species are for the continuation of the species.
What does the fetus in the mother's body rely on for nourishment? It relies on the essence of the mother, not the blood of the mother. When the mother becomes pregnant, the menstrual cycle is interrupted. After the fetus is separated, the mother refines the milk and nurtures the baby, and the menstrual cycle is also interrupted. The essence meridian is originally of the same origin.
So what fruits are we eating? In fact, it is equivalent to the essence of plants, and also equivalent to the milk of plants.
Fruits, milk, and sheep's milk may seem different, but they are actually the same thing. They are all created to nurture offspring.
Plants are like animals. Some animals are born to walk and can find food in nature on their own, while others must be nursed by their mother to survive.
Plants are the same. Some plant seeds do not require fruit and can survive on the ground, while others require maternal nutrition for their seeds, which is called fruit.
Fruits come from trees, vines, and water, and are divided into five elements.
In the Inner Canon, it is said that the five fruits are helpful. What does it mean that the five fruits are helpful? These things are not actually meant for people to eat, improper consumption is a normal diet for humans
As a nutrient, the human body itself is not affected by fruits, and the human body relies on grains for nourishment. Only when the body's yang function is sufficient and yin is deficient, will fruit be needed for assistance.
But nowadays, eating fruits and drinking milk have become the norm.
This is also the reason why modern people tend to have more weight due to cold and dampness. It has a lot to do with diet.
